Traffic Engineering for Choate Road
GC Engineering, Inc. (GCE) was responsible for preliminary engineering and final design for widening of Choate Road to a 4-lane roadway with curb and gutter, and a raised median from approximately 200 feet west of Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks to SH-146 Southbound Frontage Road.
GCE work included developing alternative alignments for the roadway, evaluating and ranking alternatives, and recommending a selection for the best alternative.
The project also included coordination with over 10 product pipeline companies over utility encroachments, and design of an at-grade railroad crossing. GCE prepared exhibits for UPRR Agreement, an extensive traffic control plan for the heavily travelled roadway, and PS&E and bid documents for the project.
GCE also provided preliminary and final engineering services for the widening of Red Bluff Road to a 4-lane facility. GCE services were similar in scope with the services rendered during the Choate Road project.
